Charles and Charles Rosé 2016 – This is Vintage Taster Mike’s favorite Rosé. If you buy a case, mix-or-match, it will cost $7.99 per bottle. Whole Foods is selling the same wine in a 1.5-litre bottle for $29.99.  That just about equals four 750mm bottles at Cost Plus for the same wine.  This Rosé is perfect for any outdoor entertaining event. Dry and refreshing!

K&L Wines

2012 Haras de Pirque “Hussonet” Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva Maipo Valley – $9.99. This is a delicious Chilean Cabernet rated 92 Points by James Suckling. Vintage Wine Taster Jim rates it 90 points and a “steal.”

2013 Bodegas Casa Juan Señor de Lesmos Crianza Rioja Rioja – $12.99. My perfect Paella wine! It is medium-bodied and smooth on the palate.

2014 Gerard Bertrand Corbieres – $12.99. This is a wine from the South of France and a wonderful blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. It is spicy but elegant and a very versatile wine for Labor Day food fare. W.S. gives it 90 points.

2013 Tonel 78 Malbec-Bonarda – $14.99. This Argentine beauty is 50% Malbec and 50% Bonarda. Bonarda is second in vineyard acreage to Malbec in Argentina. The blend makes for a unique wine, tasty and rich with flavors of dark fruit. 91 Points from Robert Parker.

2014 Bodega Norton Reserva Malbec – $11.99. The Norton Reserva delivers on price-to-quality ration year after year. The 2014 is a delightful wine with a food-friendly balance. Another great Paella wine or with anything on the grill. 90 Points from the Wine Spectator; I rate it at 89 Points.
