White Bordeaux’s to the Rescue

Chateau Coucheroy – Pessac Leognan

Beautiful and crisp White Bordeaux wines are the perfect solution to this heatwave we are presently enduring. I’m sure there are more hot days to come as the World heats up. That’s a topic for another discussion as winemakers and vineyard owners scramble to rescue their vines as temps rise. We also have fire and smoke and COVID to add to the situation. It is an excellent time to enjoy White Bordeaux wines.

This is a glass of Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte White Bordeaux fresh from the fermentation tank – Vintage 2016. Sells now for around $100 a bottle.

Only 8% of the vineyards in Bordeaux are white wine grapes. White Bordeaux wines are a mix of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. The Muscadelle is used only in small amounts or not at all.
