The Skinny on Safeway Wines
Wine selections vary by store. The wine department at Safeway tends to be more extensive in affluent areas. One thing to note about the sale wines at Safeway is their pricing rule: in order to get the lowest sale price, you must purchase six wines, but you have the flexibility to mix and match them. We tend to avoid the section where they display the 1.5-liter bottles and instead focus on wines that come in the standard 750 ml size.
