Favorite Summer Wine

June Poll – What is your favorite summer wine?

June marks the beginning of summer vacations and outdoor cooking and dining. I thought it might a fun idea to see what everyone’s favorite wine choice is for warm weather, backyard dining and picnicking. This will be a white wine only choice. I do believe folks like red wine in warm weather, but I think for pre-dinner wines or afternoon wines, white wine is the preferred choice.

Wild Thing Old Vine Zinfandel $12.59

  1. You forgot to mention Smith and Smith 2012 Rose which is 80% Syrah and only $7.55 per six. I am totally head over heals on that wine. So much varietal character and taste for so little money.

    • I should have checked out that wine when I was at the Burl Safeway on Thursday. I would have added it to my collection of wines. I am amazed at that many of the wines I see at Costco are a bit less during this Safeway wine sale. Of course you must by at least six to that extra 10% discount.

      Cheers, Joe

  2. The Terra Savia Chardonnay that GCV recommended a couple of weeks ago is my choice for an outdoor wine. Whole Foods still has the wine available. It’s 100% organic Chardonnay grapes and absolutely no oak in this tasty wine.
