11 Best Trader Joe’s Wines

Attention Trader Joe’s Shoppers! I recently ran across this article in “Eat This, Not That:” 11 Best Trader Joe’s Wines, According to Sommeliers. “Eat This, Not That” is a website run by journalists and nutritionists to give its readers important information about foods, diets, and more. I think it is a reliable website. This article is an excellent resource for Trader Joe’s wine shoppers. It is a good way to discover different wines and get out of the rut of choosing the same wines each shopping trip. Article in Eat This, Not That

I am adding four wines to the Sommeliers’ list of 11 Best Trader Joe’s Wines . These four are among my TJ’s “Go-To” wines. Trader Joe’s is a fun place to shop. I like their cheese selections, nuts, and chicken choices; but lately, I am locked into their Atlantic Salmon. My Wines:

2021 Husch Chardonnay

Husch Vineyards is a tiny winery in the Anderson Valley. It is the first bonded winery in the region. It’s family-owned and operated, adding to the delight of drinking the wine. We have visited Husch several times. If you are ever up for a trip to the Anderson Valley, don’t miss the Husch tasting room. The price at Trader Joe’s is $9.99.

The Husch Estate Chardonnay comes from two vineyards, one in the Anderson Valley and the other in the Hopland area of Mendocino County. The result is a lovely, lighter-style Chardonnay. There is excellent balance in this Chardonnay, with just a hint of oak. It is refreshing, and will delight with lighter foods like grilled boneless chicken thighs. Previous review

2022 Pine Ridge Viognier/Chenin Blanc

The critics love this wine. It is a rare blend of the two varieties, 80% Chenin Blanc and the rest Viognier. The Chenin Blanc comes from the Clarksburg AVA, and the Viognier from Lodi. Its slight sweetness makes it a good food choice for spicy foods. Previous review

2021 Bonterra Chardonnay

I recently reviewed the 2019 Bonterra Chardonnay. Some Costco stores have it for $7, but the $10 price at TJ’s is excellent when you consider the convenience of one-stop shopping. My 2018 review

J Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon

We always like the J Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon in the red wine department. It is well made and tastes like a Cab, unlike many other inexpensive Cabs. Recent review
