Attention Costco wine shoppers!

We like these vintages of wines recently added to the Costco wine department.

Kirkland Signature Sancerre 2020 $14.99

2020 Kirkand Signature Sancerre $14.99
2020 Kirkand Signature Sancerre – Great Sancerre at $14.99

Finally, this Sancerre wine is back at Costco. We loved the 2019 vintage and are so happy to find it and enjoy it again. The price is a dollar less than the 2019. I find this wine to be a great-tasting Sancerre wine, with all the wonderful flavors of a 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. Pack this wine with your next picnic adventure. Seafood, chicken, salads, and this pasta dish, will all be lovely with this Sauvignon Blanc wine.

Here is what Vintage Wine Taster Mike has to say about the 2020 Kirkland Signature Sancerre. “I feel the 2020 Kirkland Sancerre is a great buy.   As I remember, this vintage is a bit riper and lower in acidity; but that is not a bad thing. It is light gold color, with peach and stone fruit nose and a crisp mouth-filling taste.  This Sancerre is very much a representative of its region, with flinty-like aroma and perfect acidity. This wine has a wide range of use and will drink well in the coming years.   Sancerre of this quality usually starts at $20.”

2020 Rosa Fiore Arneis

Rosa Fiore Langhe Arnesi
Rosa Fiore Langhe Arneis – Piedmonte white wine grape

Arneis is a white wine grape you most likely do not know about. It is one of the big white wine grapes of the Langhe area of Piedmonte, Italy. This area is better known for the beautiful reds, Barolo and Barbaresco. If you want to expand your wine horizons, give the Rosa Fiore Arneis a try. For $10, is a very delicious white wine.

The aroma pops with tropical notes and lemony characteristics. It has a round mouthfeel, but the wine is light and bright. This lovely Italian wine will pair nicely with seafood, light pasta, and light chicken dishes. We love it with this quick and easy pasta dish.

Kirkland Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Costco wine shoppers
Kirkland Willamette Valley Pinot – $12.99

The Kirkland Willamette Pinot Noir 2019 is a poor man’s Pinot Noir. It is not perfect, but it delivers Oregon Pinot Noir characteristics at $12.99. It is light-to-medium bodied with spice and red fruit flavors. If you are a fan of traditional Pinot Noir, and not the heavy -ifting Pinots, this one will be an excellent Pinot to try. Pair it with chicken dishes and Salmon. Have you tried the Costco Salmon Milano with pesto?

2021 Dry Creek Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

Costco wines this week
A beauty of a Sauvignon Blanc wine for $12.99

Dry Creek Vineyard winery is one of the great family-owned wineries in California. 2022 marks their 50th anniversary of making wine. This 2021 version is bright and aromatic, with tropical notes dominating. Sauvignon Musqué and Sauvignon Gris clones are added to the mix, making the wine more complex. Most of the wine was in stainless steel, but a small amount went into acacia, chestnut, and French oak. It is a fun-drinking wine with lots of spunk. It is my favorite wine of this group of wines. I like it at 90 Points. The price is $12.99 at Costco. If you buy it at the winery, the cost is $20. Padron pepper season is here. Padrons are a perfect match with the Dry Creek Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc.
